Halloumi Cheese from Cyprus

The Facts

Country: Cyprus
Milk Type: Pasteurized Goat and Sheep
Age: 1-2 months

Tasting Notes:

Halloumi Cheese from Cyprus, a semi-soft artisanal cheese, also known as "grilling cheese", comes to us from the Greek island of Cyprus.

Halloumi Cheese from Cyprus is made from goat's milk and sheep's milk, which give it a unique flavour and texture.

It is similar in texture to thick feta, with a strong, salty taste, which comes from being preserved in brine.

The saltiness; however, is removed once the cheese is heated, and that's how it's enjoyed by many. For best results, grill or pan-fry. This gives the cheese a lovely crispy texture on the outside, and a soft, melted texture on the inside.

Pair with Sauvignon Blanc.
