Tasting Notes:
From the Savoie region of Northwestern France, comes the delicious Tomme de Savoie Cheese! The word "Tomme" is simply a name given to a family of cheeses made in the French Alps and Switzerland.
Tomme de Savoie is a lower fat cheese, made from the skim milk that is left after the cream has been removed to make butter. But don't be mistaken, this cheese is still packed to the brim with flavour!
The milk comes from local cows, grazing on hay in the winter and grass during the summer months.
The cheese has a semi-firm, supple texture, with holes or "eyes" scattered throughout the interior.
Expect an earthy, aroma, with flavours of citrus, grass, milk, mushroom, and nuts.
Pair with a Pinot Grigio.
