Tasting Notes:
Tomme d'Abdondance Cheese, lovingly hand-made in the Haute Savoie region of France in the Rhone-Alps, is made using the milk of a special "Abondance" breed of cattle.
As a PDO protected cheese, Tomme d'Abondance can only be made within a certain geographical area, using only traditional methods of manufacturing.
The texture is creamy and supple, and the cheese is a warm golden colour.
Tomme d'Abondance is a strongly aromatic cheese, with a nutty aroma. And its flavour is also quite intense, with sweet, buttery, fruity, hazelnut notes and a slight acidity. The sweetness and acidity of the cheese offer a perfect balance, and there is a noticeable, lingering aftertaste.
Pair with a light Pinot Noir.
Our cheese mongers hand cut every cheese to order. We will always try to cut the exact weight ordered, however your piece might be slightly over or under the amount listed. But please know that we cut it freshly and specifically for you.
If you order several cheeses, we will usually make up for shortcomings on weight, if any, on the other cheeses ordered.
All cheeses are wrapped in special cheese paper and sealed to preserve freshness during transit.
Every order includes all the necessary thermal packaging and ice packs required for current weather conditions. Our main focus is getting the freshest product delivered to your door.
