Quite strong flavour

A bit on the stronger side for me but it was quite good. Very strong blue cheese combined with tangy wine flavours

Berry Blue

My husband and I have had Oro Rosso Cheese only once before and that was a few years ago. With the vague memory of its fruity rich taste, and the tang of the blue cheese, I was excited to order it up and try it again. It was just as rewarding to taste this time, as our first experience. This is a cheese for real blue cheese lovers. Spicy, strong blue flavour layered with winey and berry tastes adding to it's complexity. Quite rich, a little goes a long way. Given the chance, we would definitely enjoy it again. Thank you Cheesyplace for bringing this to us, in our remote location! We can find good cheese but rarer and unique cheeses are not often available in our area.

One of the best “blues” we have had (and we are blue cheese fanatics). Tangy cheese and a touch of sweetness.

Oro Rosso Cheese

The Facts

Country: Italy
Milk Type: Pasteurized Cow
Age: 2 Months +

Tasting Notes:

Oro Rosso Cheese is placed in barrels and covered with a ruby sweet wine and left for about 30 days.

Once removed it is covered with blueberries, blackberries, and currants, then aged two more months.

This cheese has an intense flavour with a hint of the wine. It is pleasantly sour, fruity and spicy offering a very complex flavour profile. If you love trying different and unique cheeses and are a fan of blue, this is a must try.

Made in Veneto in northern Italy.

Pair with a glass of Port.

Our cheese mongers hand cut every cheese to order. We will always try to cut the exact weight ordered, however your piece might be slightly over or under the amount listed. But please know that we cut it freshly and specifically for you.

If you order several cheeses, we will usually make up for shortcomings on weight, if any, on the other cheeses ordered.

All cheeses are wrapped in special cheese paper and sealed to preserve freshness during transit.

Every order includes all the necessary thermal packaging and ice packs required for current weather conditions. Our main focus is getting the freshest product delivered to your door.
