The milk is sourced for making Der Scharfe Maxx Cheese comes from cows fed only fresh grass or natural hay, and is delivered direct from the dairies to the cheesemaking facility in Thurgau, Switzerland.

With a dense, smooth and firm texture, flavours are robust and meaty. Notes of nuts and fruit with an earthy aroma are present.

Flavours are similar to alpine cheeses from the region such as Appenzeller and Gruyere, however Der Scharfe Maxx has a distinctly unique spicy finish and earthiness.

 Pair with a Riesling or Pinot Noir.

Our cheese mongers hand cut every cheese to order. We will always try to cut the exact weight ordered, however your piece might be slightly over or under the amount listed. But please know that we cut it freshly and specifically for you.

If you order several cheeses, we will usually make up for shortcomings on weight, if any, on the other cheeses ordered.

All cheeses are wrapped in special cheese paper and sealed to preserve freshness during transit.
